Reviews: Deception
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
“Like Dan Brown and Black Mirror had a beautifully dark baby.”
— Jordan H., Bristol
Deception is more than a thriller—it’s a metaphysical puzzle box disguised as a blockbuster novel. Nick Hayward and Alison Scarlett Giblin pull off a rare feat: combining corporate espionage, cutting-edge science, and reincarnation into a seamless, atmospheric page-turner.
The Ankh Institute is chillingly plausible, and the technology described feels just one unethical billionaire away from reality. What elevates the story, though, is Jonathan himself—a man haunted by his past lives and hunted by his future.
Thought-provoking, immersive, and just the right amount of disturbing.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
“Mind-bending, elegant, and terrifying in equal measure.”
— Clara A., Verified Purchase
I devoured this book in two sittings. Jonathan Chambers: Deception is a masterclass in psychological tension and philosophical speculation. The concept of the soul being hacked? Genius. The Ankh Institute felt so real I found myself Googling it at 2 a.m.
Jonathan is the kind of flawed, irresistible protagonist you can’t stop rooting for—even when he’s making all the wrong choices. The writing is cinematic, the pacing relentless, and the twist in the final act left me reeling.
I haven’t read anything this original in years. Can’t wait for Book Two.
